Emergency Dentist, Fulham Road Dental – The Championships, Wimbledon
Summer is hopefully around the corner, the lawn tennis courts are in pristine condition and the strawberries and champagne are ready to be served. It’s that time of the year again and after missing the 2020 tournament everyone is incredibly excited to see the start of the 2021 edition of The Championships, Wimbledon which is being held at the All England Lawn Tennis Club from 28 June to 11 July.
Preparations are well underway and anyone passing by the courts will notice a hive of activity as all the organisers and support staff make the final arrangements. The good news for tennis lovers is that The Championships are part of the government’s Event Research Programme, which means they will operate at 50% capacity across the grounds, building to full capacity crowds of 15,000 on Centre Court for the finals weekend.

Fulham Road Dental is especially proud of the fact that one of our senior dentists, Dr George Cheetham, has been nominated as the official emergency dentist during The Championships. George is a very experienced restorative dentist in Fulham having been awarded Young Dentist of the year awards in 2018, 2019 and 2020. George has a long and proud association with Wimbledon having gone to Kings College School and being a senior partner at Ridgway Dental. Ridgway Dental is one of the leading dental practices in the area and has been under his co-ownership since 2014.
Emergency Dental Treatments
In the week leading up to and during The Championships, Fulham Road Dental will be providing 24/ 7 emergency care to the players and support staff. This will require that the practice team, including our nursing staff, be on call all day to ensure that players and support staff are able to be treated at short notice. In addition to providing care at our premises in Fulham, the practices phones lines will be diverted to the mobile phones of our team after hours. This will ensure that we are able to provide the level of patient care required by the players and support staff to contribute to a successful tournament.
